Hessle Sporting Jaguars won the U11's Plate Final on Sunday after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Sproatley Juniors with extra time needed to seperate the teams.
Kieran Howard was the Jaguars hero as he netted both goals from distance in a scrappy game that saw both teams have their chances and the swirling wind control the game.
The Jaguars were quickest to settle with some slick inter play and they deservedly took an early lead when the ball broke to Howard and he smashed home from 20 yards.
But Sproately then found their feet and after 20 minutes they were level when a great move and a fine finish left Berin Hodgson no chance in the Jaguars goal.
As the game progressed it became clear that 1 more goal would likely win it and both sides had their chances but no goal arrived.
Extra time followed and it was the Jaguars that would make the break through. And it was that man Kieran Howard again as he emulated his first half strike to send the hoardes of Jaguars fans into raptures.
From that point on it was backs to the wall as Sproatley piled forward. A series of late corners in the strong wind seriously tested the Jaguars defence and they were lucky to escape as Sproatley hit both the post and bar in the final minutes. However hold on they did and the players, fans and a certain coach Dave Busby went crazy at the final whistle.
Well done to all involved!!!

Hessle Sporting Phoenix U12's secured their first ever trophy win on Friday night when they secured the Goals 5 a side title. Having only been reborn as a team at U11's level under the guidance of manager Alan Hall the team have evolved tremendously and secured promotion from the Kingston League this season. And now they have their first silverware to join it.
They entered 3 teams into the event with the aptly names Phoenix Knights and Phoenix Flames both securing semi final spots. The Phoenix Casuals also performed superbly but went out in the group stage.
The Knights then won their semi 3-1 whilst the Flames went out on penalties to Anlaby Road Rangers.
The final saw the Knights fall behind but they came roaring back to win 5-1 with Harry Storr netting a hat trick and Sam Couper and Owen Drury adding the gloss finish.
Well done to all 3 teams with the winning side being: Daniel Smith, Jordan Maltby, Owen Drury, Tom Blagdon, Harry Storr and Sam Couper.

Dave Busby of the Under 11's Jaguars took a team consisting of players from across the 4 Under 11 teams to a tournament at Leeds United's Elland Road Stadium on Saturday giving the youngsters the chance to experience playing on a professional ground.
Naming the team the Hessle Sporting Allstars for the trip and playing in a specially ordered kit the lads where treated to the big game experience. They posed for photos around the ground, used the team changing rooms and played their event on the main pitch.
The lads performed superbly against some top teams from the Leeds and Manchester area and made the semi finals before going out.
But this day was about the experience and Busby said that every one of the lads could be proud of themselves and the club could be proud of them flying the Hessle Sporting flag in such glamorous surroundings.
Well done to all the team!!!
