We are looking for somebody involved with Hessle Sporting Club either as a parent or a volunteer to help with the updating of this official website. The system is simple enough to use and help will be given to anybody volunteering to administer it. A basic knowledge of HTML would be useful. Please note this involves updating the site for the club. It is not just doing the team that you are involved in and it does not involve updating individual team pages which are the responsibility of that particular team. If you would like to help please email Rich Nichols at

The Hessle Sporting Club production line of great future talent just keeps rolling along as this week saw 2 more players join professional clubs. Both players come from the all conquering under 15 side that swept all before them last season. Andy Norfolk joined the club at the age of 9 and the striker has gone on to make nearly 150 appearances in the black and white shirt. He also had an amazing strike rate netting well over 100 goals during his time with the club. This fantastic rate has seen him snapped up on a 2 year deal by Rotherham United. Also moving to pastures new is Eddie Rogerson. Eddie has only been at Hessle Sporting for a short time having joined the side after choosing to leave Hull City. However the lure of Academy football has seen him sign a 2 year deal at Barnsley. Manager Rich Nichols said "Both players leave with our best wishes. In particular Andy has been a true stalwart of the team captaining and leading them for 5 years. He deserves this opportunity and we are all sure he will take it. Eddie might have only been with us a short time but he's shown his class and we're glad we were able to get him back on his feet and to a well respected academy like Barnsley." The summer months also saw another player move on when Kai Larkin left the U9 Piranhas to join Hull City. Everybody at the club wishes all the players the very best for the future.

The first team secured a win double on Saturday as they followed up last weeks cup win over Malet Lambert with a thumping 7-1 league win at home to Brandesburton. A hat trick from Scott Richards, 2 from Josh Lambert and stunning goals from Andy Leach and Lewis Hoy saw Darryl Forresters side home with much to spare. In fact they led 5-0 at half time in what was a comfortable win that moves the team up to 5th in the table.

What a Difference a Week Makes |

The Under 10 Harriers found out on Sunday what a difference a week can make as a total turnaround in fortunes saw them hit 16 goals past a hapless Cottingham Rangers Rhinos. Despite being on the end of 2 heavy defeats themselves last week the re-invigorated Harriers didn't let their heads drop and looked to put things right this week. And what followed was a masterclass in finishing as their matches finished with 8-0 and 8-2 victories. Elsewhere the Typhoons recorded their first win as they exchanged 3-1 scorelines with Hall Road Rangers Whites. The big 2 in the Under 11's had the week off so it was down to the Tornados and the Jaguars to carry the flag. The Tornados were superb and were unlucky to go down to a 2-1 defeat at Beverley Whitestar in what was an amazing turnaround in performance from last week. Meanwhile the self proclaimed Wyke League favourites the Jaguars got their first league match under their belts with a sound 7-1 home win against Springhead FC. The U12 Sharks again went goal crazy with a 10-2 win at Driffield and they are the first of 3 Hessle Sporting table toppers at this early stage of the season. The Tigers drew 3-3 with Westella & Willerby whilst the Phoenix drew 1-1 with North Cave. The U14's also lead the way in the Myton League after they beat Westella & Willerby 4-1 whilst the Under 15's came out of the cauldron that is Kingsbury Park Rangers with a 3-0 win and also lead the Myton League. The girls got their season underway as well and in what is sure to be a tough season after being placed in division 1 with girls all a year older they drew 2-2 with Brayton Belles. The crowning glory was the 7-1 win for the first team on Saturday against Brandesburton. Scott Richards netted a hat trick and even Assistant Manager Andy Leach got on the scoresheet.

The first team again slipped to defeat in their second pre season game but were again much the better side for long periods against Central Midlands League side Hutton Cranswick. Manager Darryl Forrester was absent from the game due to a family commitment but he got a glowing report back as his charges took the game to their higher ranked opponents. Unfortunately the team remain goal shy and they only had a strike from Lewis Hoy to show from the match as they went down 2-1. Forrester will be hoping the results turn over time but with fitness the priority at present he sees no need for concern. The first team next play Chalk Lane at South Hunsley in Saturday kick off 2pm.
